Independent report published into allegations regarding former police doctor – Avon & Somerset Police

“Anyone requiring a police medical examination held on police premises by a police doctor should have had an expectation of being safe. It is clear that the conduct of some of these medical examinations fell well below this standard.~Deputy Chief Constable Gareth Morgan

Doctors are supposed to be safe to be around at any and all times! Just like Police officers! Those who had declined to take action on any of this should be in jail!

I guess we should be more determined not to go alone to any doctors appointments in future! INCLUDING any SMP’s in reviews! I hear there are a few SMP’s who will not allow patients to be accompanied! What could be the motive for that I wonder?

For anyone who may not believe that these things happen they most surely do! I have my own experiences of ‘gentlemen’ doctors who we used to refer to in the old days as ‘being a bit fond’. In other words stay out of reach of them!

We should not be commenting on this and the reason being is it should never have happened and this pathetic excuse for a police force had more than one chance to stop it and they tried their hardest to bury it.
This goes right to the top the Chiefs like Shattock, Steele and Pilkington and more senior officers than you can shake a stick at. Well you all disgust me because you tried to cover up abuse to your own officers just so you could save your sorry arses.
If I was in charge of that force I would be cacking my pants because Dr Bunting carried out examinations on rape victims and took blood from Drink drivers etc how many of these convictions are safe, because if this serial abuser had been stopped in the first instance then he would have been locked up.
Shame on you Avon and Somerset but I guess it will be onto the next scandal.
One question to you Marshy, if this was an independent enquiry the why were Avon and Somerset officers involved in it? Or was it their job to report back?

It should have been investigated properly first time around instead of being swept under the carpet. Maybe that way we would not have had god knows how many more victims.

Another shocking indictment on the Avon and Somerset Constabulary. Never mind it leaves them more time to go after injured pensioners who do nothing for their communities. What next are they going to sacrifice on the altar of money.

This organisation A&S have apparently reached another crisis point. It has been shown over the last few months how badly they treat their injured on duty officers, their pensioners and those still serving. Unfortunately they are not the only Police Constabulary to have these issues. Its time the Police Federation and local authorities take a long hard look at themselves for allowing officers to be treated in such a humiliating manner. Shocked!

What a weak and pathetic response from A&S.Viewers may wish to read the Saville Inquiry report: Investigations into abuse at Leeds General Infirmary. It is available on the internet and summarises the investigation and exposes organisational responsibilities with regard to abuse as well as attempts to ‘cover up’ for fear of scandal!!! How many more officers have been subject to inappropriate medical examinations intended to humiliate and intimidate. All doctors are bound by their professional code regardless of who is employing them and irrespective of their specific role.Anyone who feels they have been treated in this way by any doctors employed by the PPA, Appeal boards or others must consider reporting their concerns to the GMC at the very least

When evidence disappears without trace on a large scale, even though it should have been preserved for 50 years, would it be uncharitable to use the words “criminal maladministration”?
