David Lock QC - Landmark Chambers

David Lock QC, is probably regarded as the country's leading authority on the Police(Injury Benefit) Regulations 2006. He has acted in many judicial reviews concerning the law relating to police officers and has a particular expertise in police pensions (see for example Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis v The Police Medical Appeal Board [2013] EWHC 1203 (Admin)).  He has represented Chief Constables, senior police officers, constables and former police officers in a wide variety of cases.  David acted for the successful former police officer in the case of AB v A Chief Constable (June 2014) which established that Chief Constables are bound by promises made by other officers.

Ron Thompson - Haven Solicitors

Over the past three years Ron Thompson has been heavily involved in a very complex and successful series of Judicial Reviews against the Home Office & certain Police Authorities with regards to the unlawful reductions to former Police officers Injury on Duty awards. All of the Judicial Review applications were successful subsequently leading to the Home Office withdrawing that part of their Guidance which the Courts held to be unlawful. This decision has led to hundreds, if not thousands, of former Police Officers having their injury pensions reinstated to its correct level.
